West Scotland Breast Screening are inviting ladies in this area to respond to their appointment letter and attend for Breast Screening. You will receive an invitation in the post when it is your turn to attend.
All eligible women registered with the practice will receive a letter from the West of Scotland Breast Screening Service, inviting them to attend the screening centre at Stock Exchange Court, 77 Nelson Mandela Place, Glasgow, G2 1QT for a mammogram.
Why does the NHS offer breast Screening?
To reduce the number of women who die from breast cancer. Screening does this by finding breast cancers at an early stage when they are too small to see or feel.
Around 4,800 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in Scotland.
What are the benefits?
Screening can find breast cancer before any symptoms become noticeable.
The earlier breast cancer is found, the better your chance of surviving it.
Women over the age of 70
You are still welcome to come for screening every 3 years, although you will not automatically be invited. To make an appointment, please call the centre on 0141 800 8800.
